In June 2021, Gortnacart NS achieved its first Green Flag for Litter and Waste. The Green Flag initiative is a whole school approach from both adults and pupils but is spearheaded by our hard work pupil committee under the direction of Ms. Kathy Walsh. We proudly raised out flag in the company of our school community. Our past principal, Mrs. Bríd Hennigan was the guest of honour as well as local County Councillor Mr. Anthony Molloy.
We are now working hard to achieve our next Green Flag in the area of water.

How can we save water?
The children in Gortnacart N.S. have been working on ways to help water conservation. We can all make simple changes in our lives to help save water consumption. The children have designed some fabulous posters to help spread the word! We hope you enjoy them and that they inspire you to make some small changes to help save our planet.
